3 Major Events of the 18th Century

Event 1

The American Revolution, started April 19, 1775. Due to Great Britain trying to Tax America with the sugar Act of 1764, and the Stamp Act of 1765, and more. (“American Revolution Facts.”) The possibility of the people in America starting a rebellion worried Britain so they tried to take away the colonists’ weapons which started the Battles of Lexington and concord. The British were outnumbered with 3,960 Americans and 1,500 British. (“Lexington and Concord.”, During the Battle) The battles casualties were 93 Americans and 300 British. (“Lexington and Concord.”, Aftermath) The American Revolution had many battles throughout its course. The American Revolution ended with the treaty of Paris. On Sept. 3rd, 1783, giving the US its freedom. (“American Revolution Facts.”, When did the American Revolution End): To be finished.

Event 2

Great Northern War 1700 to 1721. The expansion of Sweden in the Baltic Sea didn’t sit well with Russia. In February of 1700 Poland attacked Livonia. (“Second Northern War.”) battle of Narva between Russia and Sweden, when a snowstorm hit the Swedish took advantage and beat the Russians the losses were 2,000 Swedish and 8,000-10,000 Russians. (“Battle of Narva.”): To be finished.

Event 3

The French Revolution started in 1789 and went to 1791. Inside this timespan the French citizens didn’t want there to be a monarchy or feudal system but a democracy, resulting in King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette getting their head cut off. (French Revolution) On August 26, 1789, was the introduction to “The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of Citizen, proclaiming liberty, equality, the inviolability of property, and the right to resist oppression.” (“Events of 1789.”) This was refused by the king.
